Privacy policy
Draft for Ontario counsel review — operative today as our working policy. Last updated 2026-09-02.
The short version
- Browse and match without an account. Your match answers, saves and tracker live in your browser's storage on your device — they are not transmitted to us.
- Sensitive answers (disability, Indigenous identity, care history, veteran status, income) are optional, explained, used only for the matching you request, and never used for marketing or segmentation.
- No sale of personal profiles. Ever.
- Consent is specific. Nothing is shared with any school or provider unless you tick a recipient-specific consent that names the recipient, the fields, the purpose and any compensation — and you can withdraw it.
- Analytics are off by default and privacy-aware if you enable them; sensitive fields are never sent to analytics. Preferences.
What we collect
On-device data (not transmitted): profile answers, saved items, comparisons, application tracker entries, reminders, consent records and an audit of what you shared. Export or erase it any time at Export or delete.
Server logs: our hosting provider records standard, short-lived technical logs (IP, user agent, URL) for security. Outbound "go" links record the link slug and a random click id — never your profile answers.
Retention
On-device data persists until you erase it. Sensitive match answers are stored with the shortest practical footprint and are erasable in one tap. If future features add server-side accounts, retention schedules will be published here first and consent re-requested.
Communications (CASL)
Reminder emails (if you enable them in a future release) are transactional and separate from marketing. Marketing requires explicit opt-in, has a working unsubscribe, and suppression history is kept so deleted users are not re-subscribed.
